This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes the personal information we collect through this website at gatheredhome.com (the “Site”), and how we collect and use that information. The terms “Gathered Home,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refers to Gathered Home, Inc. The terms “user,” “you,” and “your” refer to site visitors, customers, and any other users of the site. The term “Personal Information” is defined as information that you voluntarily provide to us that personally identifies you and/or your contact information, such as your name, address, phone number, email address, and payment information.

By visiting the Site, you are consenting to our Privacy Policy. This Policy applies to all Site visitors, customers, and all other users of the Site. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy, without modification, and acknowledge you have read it.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT ME DOES GATHERED HOME COLLECT?

We collect the Personal Information you give us such as your name, address, phone number, email address, and payment information when you save your information to our site, participate in a promotion, create a wish list, or make a purchase. You may choose not to provide certain information, but by doing so, you might not be able to take advantage of some of our features. With your permission, we may send you emails about our site, new products, order information, and other updates. See the “ACTIVITY” and “COOKIES” sections below for further details.

DOES GATHERED HOME SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH ANYONE ELSE?

Information about our customers is an important part of any business, and we are no exception. However, we are not now and never will be in the business of selling this information to others. We share customer information only as described below, and only where we reasonably believe the person or entity with whom we share the information follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Policy.

We work closely with affiliated businesses for our e-commerce transaction merchant. You can tell when any third party is involved in your transactions, and we share personal information related to those transactions with that third party.

We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing website support, processing payments, accountants, attorneys, and the like. They have access to personal information needed to perform their specific function only, and will not use it for any other purpose.

Sometimes we send offers to selected groups of users on behalf of ourselves or other businesses. When we do this, we do not give any other business your name or address. If you do not want to receive such offers, please note it in your personal account or contact us.

As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy physical store space, subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing privacy notice (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise). Also, in the event that Gathered Home or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.

We release account and other personal information when we reasonably believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, such as in response to a subpoena; to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Gathered Home, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. Obviously, however, this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Policy.
Other than as set forth above, you may also receive notice when information about you may go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.

HOW SECURE IS MY INFORMATION?

Sensitive personal information contained in orders on the Site is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. In order for SSL security to function, you must use an SSL-enabled browser. We maintain security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. However, no exchange of data over the Internet can be guaranteed as 100% secure. While we make every effort to protect the personal information you share with us through our Site, you acknowledge that the personal information you voluntarily share with us through this Site could be accessed or tampered with by a third party. You agree that we are not responsible for the unauthorized access to or use of the information you share with us by any such third party. Additionally, you release us from any and all claims arising out of, or related to, a third party’s unauthorized access to or use of such intercepted information. When you share your information with us, you do so at your own risk.

We generally reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company through our ecommerce merchant during order processing.

It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared or public computer. You should take some additional time to become educated on privacy issues associated with use of the Internet.

DO YOU USE COOKIES?

We do. Cookies are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device to enable our systems to recognize it and to provide better service to you as well as to “store” items in your shopping cart during and between visits. We may send cookies to your computer in order to uniquely identify your browser and improve the quality of our service. We may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them). You have the ability to accept or decline cookies using your web browser settings. If you choose to disable cookies, some areas of the site may not work properly or at all. We therefore recommend you leave them turned on for the Site. You should take some additional time to become educated on the nature and use of cookies when transacting business on the Internet.

WHAT ABOUT THIRD PARTY LINKS?

The Site may contain links to third party websites. Except as otherwise discussed in this Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you on our Site. Third party sites accessible through our Site via links or otherwise have their own policies with respect to your privacy. Unless otherwise noted, we do not know and specifically disclaim responsibility for the privacy policies or practices of these third party websites.

ACTIVITY

We may record metadata information relating to your use of the Site, including but not limited to the searches you undertake, the pages you view, which web browser you use, your IP address, the requested URL, any referring URL, and timestamp information. We use this type of information to administer the Site within our company and to provide you a high level of service. We also use this information in aggregate, non-individualized form to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics for marketing purposes, including but not limited to measuring interest in and use of the various areas of the Site based upon the above metadata information.

PAYMENT

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then we store your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help to ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
